PRAISE Works to Build Well-Rounded Scholars
PRAISE Scholar are bound together by the Five Wells and Three Pillars of PRAISE. Each well and pillar provide viable solutions to academic, economic and social situations that will impact their performance in college and in life.
THE 3 PILLARS OF PRAISE
Every student must adhere to the (3) pillars of PRAISE. They serve as the foundation for social and academic success. The purpose is to help ensure that all students lead productive lives and make successful transitions to high school.
Leadership to give scholars the tools and opportunities to advocate for changes within their communities.
Scholarship to empower scholars to take a proactive role in education.
Integrity to encourage scholars to adhere to a strict moral or ethical code.
Community Service is a way of learning with the head, the heart, and hands—a learning that transforms our PRAISE Scholars. It’s a kind of learning where meaningful connections between students and the world around them are made.
Community service impacts our scholar's lives by creating authentic opportunities for each scholar to be active and to be the solution-designers their communities need. Not only are our scholars exposed to issues where change is needed, they are collaborating with their peers—sometimes across grade levels—in an authentic way.
“Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time.”
― Marian Wright Edelman
The PRAISE College Readiness Program provides a welcoming environment that supports the full development of the personal and academic potential of students who have traditionally been denied equal access to higher education.
Our unique model provides all necessary academic support services to our scholars to ensure that they have a successful and delightful middle high school experience while engaging in their college careers.
Study Abroad-International Service
PRAISE International Language Immersion programs combine academic studies and community service and full cultural immersion to give students a deeper, more meaningful study abroad experience. Unlike traditional “study abroad,” these intense, credit-bearing experiences engage students with members of their host country through sustained community service activities. The combination of coursework, intercultural engagement, and service creates a powerful, holistic learning experience that is both experiential and immersive.
